Blood Clots

Wow! According to this article it seems that people are more than 30 times more likely to develop blood clots in the legs sitting at a desk in an office (or at a computer terminal, I daresay, in the case of bloggers like me) than are people cooped up on very long flights. In this study, 34% of the people admitted to the hospital with blood clots had been sitting in an office, compared to about 1.4% who had been sitting on a plane.

I’m not surprised. This is one reason why I bought a massage cushion from Discovery Channel store. Of course it was on sale for $99 at the time.

I am glad I bought one. We need to take care of our health, even if it means buying a massage cushion. But at the very least we need to move around occasionally to keep the blood pumping. It is often a matter of life and death.
